A Home for Us All
About the series:
The dream of home ownership has become very foggy on Martha's Vineyard. In the past decade, the cost of living is ever increasing and real estate values have skyrocketed, making home-ownership out of reach for many year-round residents. These economic pressures are slowly forcing the exodus of a generation, tearing at the social and cultural fabric that make Martha's Vineyard's community so unique.
Film-Truth Productions partnered with Island Affordable Housing Fund to create "A Home for Us All", an in-depth documentary series that explores the issue of the lack of affordable housing on Martha's Vineyard, and the impact this will have on the future of the island. In this landmark documentary series, Islanders open their doors and share their thoughts and aspirations for the future of the community they call home.
The series was used as part of the "Housing on the Tube" telethon, which raised over $530,000 for the Island Affordable Housing Fund to help fund the much needed work that they do to create more affordable housing opportunities on the island. It was also screened as part of the Martha's Vineyard International Film Festival, The Martha's Vineyard Film Festival, and the Woods Hole Film Festival.
